Introduction

Every community needs a Trauma Intervention Program (a group of volunteers capable of working side by side with emergency responders on emergency scenes to help victims of tragic events). Without such a program, those who are emotionally traumatized on emergency scenes are often left to fend for themselves and consequently suffer lifelong emotional scars. Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. is committed to helping communities across the nation establish Trauma Intervention Programs.

The Necessary Ingredients

An Organizer: A person in the local community who has the commitment and the time to conduct start-up activities.

An Emergency User Agency:
A police department, fire department or hospital willing to use the volunteers.

Start-up Funding: The organizer should have a definite commitment from the local community for start up funding and a specific plan for raising funds for ongoing program operation.
